Bob & his son Neil (aka "Nodge") are nice people.I love watching them together.Fathers & Sons Together are a beautiful thing to see.
Neil is off to Switzerland on Sunday for 3 months to stay with his lass who works for the United Nations.Neil brought me a copy of "Never Let Me Go" by Kazuo Ishiguro.Thank You Sir! Bob (in his 70s) is a wonderful& youthful Bloke (i wish i had his energy!) We plan to go metal detecting in Bacup soon! I love beachcombing! And, although Bacup is 60+miles from the Sea, I guess its the same principal?Who knows, by the time we do it, i might find some bits of my home?
One of the things I will not miss if/when we move from our home of 20 years is the horrible winds.We are on top of a hill..........dozens of miles of air all around.so we feel the gales that come here most Winters.We lost a load of slates last Friday night.Yesterday,I had workmen up repairing the damage.Now this is forecast for this Sunday&Monday!
It's not just the expense of it all (sometimes my Insurance will pay.sometimes it wont) I have developed a real phobia of Stormy weather.i dont expect to get much sleep on Sunday night...............
Steve.Your right about facebook.......it is very intrusive.However, Its helped me regain touch with certain people.I dont like its ridgid template...its hard to stamp any sort of real individuality into the format..........

I agree with Coffee Messiah on the weather--we had a goodly flood today--good thing we are on a hill--yet there was a foot of standing water in some parts of our back garden well away from the house...but still (the roses will love it... but still)
