You Might Know I Have A Soft Spot For Blues Legend Champion Jack Dupree Who Spent Some Of His Twilight Years Living Up Ovenden Way in Halifax.Well,If You Nip Over Sharpish to the Suffering Jukebox blog (before the F.B.I.Copyright Police close the link) you can grab a link & download Jack's masterpiece 1958 album "Blues From The Gutter" recorded in New York.In stereo. With saxist Pete Brown and guitarist Larry Dale, and Produced by Jerry Wexler .It "provides eloquent testimony to Dupree's eternal place in the New Orleans blues and barrelhouse firmament."
Titles include "Can't Kick the Habit," "T.B. Blues," a revival of "Junker's Blues" -- along with the stomping "Nasty Boogie" and treatments of the ancient themes "Stack-O-Lee" and "Frankie & Johnny."
(Don, I Have already done copies for You & one for Clive)
Briefly. His Mum & Dad were murdered by the Klu Klux Clan.He was Raised in the same orphanage as Louis Armstrong. He served in the US Army & ,while in Germany,Met & married a Yorkshire lass and came to live in Ovenden,Halifax.Eric Clapton used to come around for "tea" & Phil The Ex-Fireman (then a Postman ) used to deliver his letters!

Oh Me & Alan have met once before [report:].It would be nice to see him again.
I can not participate now in discussion - it is very occupied. I will return - I will necessarily express the opinion on this question.

Isn't it great meeting up with old friends? I met up with my old girlfriends for lunch last week - we met up a couple of months ago for the first time in over 30 years.
despite my BEST attempts - it seems google or blogger or whoever is in charge round here..... will not let me post a comment to the latest post (i.e. the picture of the tree with the "vote labour" sign on it) - I simply wanted to remark that I like to keep my trees and politics strictly separate! Never the twain shall meet..... "mmmmm Smallbridge!!"
Does That Include LOGOs ? :)
a tree? for a logo? they must be barking mad.... I can only hope EVERY dog in the area finds THAT tree!
