I have a postcard from Canada.Later my Grandfather must have moved South, hence these photo from Saranac Lake in upstate New York. .
I have been sharing these photos on facebook with Historic Saranac Lake
Turns Out It's Not Connected with Robert Louis Stevenson. But Interesting,None The Less (just mere coincidence a Family member returned?)......

That top photo is an extraordinary find. I've had Neil Young song in my mind as of about twenty minutes ago, Down to the Wire - From the same album, I think?

Tony,
I know it can be hard to scan old photos in albums... but I wonder if you could possibly make a higher resolution scan? These are beautiful photos, but they become very pixelated when I try to enlarge them to see details.
Thanks for sharing them!

Hi Amy.
I Only have a bog-standard ARGOS scanner! What I really need to do is copy them with a better standard machine.Leave it with me:Will Do! Also (*blushes*) I edited them & the softwear might have spoiled them a little?

THanks, good luck. I'm scanner challenged too, so I understand. I'd just love to see that photo with the white horses blown up. it's really something.

That is a cool picture. I love seeing old family pictures. The only thing I hate is that no one ever identifies who is who in the pictures and so most of the time I do not know who is in it.

I englarged the pic and I am not sure if it is just me but the baby being held looks more like a doll than a real baby. And I am amazed that they all fit on the giant sled. Really cool.

Thanks for sharing.

God bless.

We have three big photo albums of old Polish and German people, and I asked my Dad to go through it and make some notes so we'll know who everyone is, but he shoes zero interest.

The top photo is priceless. What a shot of a large family. The costuming makes you think we are viewing Masterpiece Theater.
The photo of the four horsed pulling a float with a horse on it is very remarkable. I have never seen of such a thing but it is a beautiful shot.

With the big sled and the lady holding the doll, it makes me think they are being pulled in a parade!? Would love to know the story behind it, but nonetheless, really neat photo. 137 more? Can't wait, Tony! What a wonderful album to have. Even with the scanning difficulties, it came out pretty good!

Wonderful photo. I have a cottage on a little lake in the Adirondacks not all that far, relatively speaking, from Saranac Lake. My family has been there seasonally for over 70 years.

This is beyond fascinating.

The photos are fascinating!

But how weird is the 'After The Goldrush' pic?

Clue: very.

Amazing photo. I love hearing about your colorful family history, Tony. Okay, please tell me these people on the sled are in a parade, not just your normal everyday family going to church!

The Top Photo is a Float from the 1918 (i think?) Winter Carnival.

The pictures have been preserved quite well. That is a miracle in itself.

You might ask a museum worker, for preservation advice.

That top photo is fantastic. It looks like a still from a surrealist movie!

Definitely getting motivated to get digging out the memorabilia here.
